They were really friendly, the motorhome was exactly as expected, really high spec, abacus send useful videos beforehand which go through how everything works. It’s the first time I’ve driven/stayed in a motorhome so that was very handy. They’re easy to contact by phone & email and keep in touch from booking through to picking up. Looking forward to the next hire!

We hired a motorhome from Abacus for a road trip around Scotland and couldn't fault it. The van was spotless, really comfortable and easy to drive, and it had everything we needed for a week on the road. Big shoutout to Mae, Andrea and Soph, they were all incredible and made the whole pick-up and drop-off process super easy. We had zero issues the whole time and we’re already planning the next trip.

Abi on the Hire team made the whole process simple, start to finish. We loved the van, took it to Scotland we had it for a week, did around 1k miles with 2 kids 4 bikes and us, the space worked well for us, and are actively looking for an excuse to Hire it again. Check in/out was easy, the staff friendly and helpful, the van was equipped well enough to just add clothes bedding and go!

From the very first enquiry to the moment we handed back the keys, our motorhome adventure was an absolute joy! The motorhome itself was spotless, well-equipped, and felt like a cosy little home on wheels – the kind that makes you want to take the scenic route just to stretch the holiday out a little longer.

But what really made the experience outstanding was the manager. Friendly, approachable, and with a sense of humour that put us at ease straight away, She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. From walking us through the controls with patience (and the odd laugh at our “first-timer” questions!) to sharing great tips on local routes and campsites, her care and attention made all the difference.

We had a fantastic time, stress-free from start to finish, and came home with both happy memories and a newfound love of motorhome travel. Highly recommend – and a big thank you to the brilliant manager and her team who turned a good trip into a great one. 🚐✨

From the moment we arrived the whole experience was perfect. From the clean condition of the motor home, the surprise birthday cake and wine through to the very friendly team who checked the camper out to us and back in, all a very smooth and seamless experience. Just visited the Andover motorhome facility to chat about renting a unit for a future road trip. Had and excellent visit and was looked after really nicely by a knowledgeable, friendly and efficient young lady. All of our options were explained clearly and after a look around a camper we made a booking. Looking forward to returning to collect the van.

Right from when I went to their website, it all seemed far too good to be true. It was true, and you know from the start that you are dealing with professionals. Great range and type of camper and motor homes to hire, all less than 3 years old and clearly low prices before you book. They also allow dogs for a fixed price of the hire and not per day. Due to an IT error on the booking system, it would have been easier for Mae Grist, the hire manager, to just say sorry and cancel the booking. However, that is clearly not her style, and so working with us, we were able to change the booking without any fuss.

I was greeted by Mae's happy and warm welcome when we arrived after a two-and-a-half-hour trip to pick up the motorhome and felt like a close new member of the Abacus family.
Free coffees for me and my girlfriend Pauline and then on to a non-rushed, detailed handover of our new home for the next week.
Being a hired van, there were a lot of very minor marks on the paintwork and windows, which I would have missed, but Mae pointed them out and recorded all, so there was no worry to us when we returned it. I am sure there are many other hire companies that are not this honest, and I fully understand why if you have caused damage they have the £1500 excess in place, as it was a £50000-plus motorhome with unlimited mileage. We were having such a great time away over the Christmas period that we didn't want it to end, and so we contacted Mae directly to see if we could be cheeky and extend the hire into the New Year. Mae sorted this out again without fuss and was happy that we were happy. On the new return date again, we were greeted by the smiling Mae, who was keen to hear about our special times in the van. I have just made my second booking for May 2026, and again Mae has made it all go to plan. I will never hire or most likely, in time, buy a motor home from anybody but Abacus. Our 3rd planned trip will be to the Lakes, which means we will go down for 2 and a half hours to then go back up. However, this is a small price to pay to use the services of the number 1 hire company, and all other companies should follow the Abacus way, and they all need to find and make a copy of Mae to be their hire manager. A family-run business that is making dreams come true.
