Our Guide to Motorhome Planning

Motorhome holidays are a great way to explore the beauty of the country, without compromising on comfort and convenience!

Whether you’re a seasoned professional booking their first 2023 holiday, or a complete motorhome newbie, today we’re going to be sharing some tips that we think everyone can benefit from.

Pick the right motorhome for you

Our motorhome hire range features a number of different models suited for all types of journeys and passengers. We have 2 berth, 4 berth and 6 berth motorhomes available, so it’s essential you choose the right motorhome judging on how much space you will require.

Similarly, not all our motorhomes are pet-friendly or bike-friendly, so always do your research into the right motorhome for you.

Book in advance

Booking earlier will not only create a less stressful experience leading up to your holiday, but it can have substantial benefits for saving money too! Booking in advance will give you a wider date selection to choose from, and more preparation time as a result.

Here at Abacus Motorhomes, if you book before the 28th February 2023, you can save up to 15% off with our Early Bird Discount. The best part? As long as you book before this date, the collection can be anytime between now and 31st December 2023!

Read ahead

Give yourself plenty of time to read up on the motorhome manuals, understanding all the systems in place within the vehicle and any key safety information.

When it comes to handing over the motorhome for your trip, we will run through with handover videos covering all the necessary information - so if you haven’t had time to read up then there’s no reason to panic.

If this is your first motorhome trip, we also have lots of resources available to help with packing and finding the best destinations around the country. You can read more on these under our News section!

Confidence is key

Lastly, confidence is key when it comes to driving and navigating a motorhome. These larger vehicles and their manoeuvres will take some extra time and space, so be aware of that especially when driving down smaller lanes (that you often come across with campsites).

We recommend reading up on your route beforehand so that you can be confident along the roads!
